Days of Our Lives

. . .  I have missed chatting with the outside world. It's been a month since I have, due to the fact that my batteries were dead in my camera & I simply could not remember to get myself some more. Difficult task, that one. Now. . . you may as well go grab whatever you're drinking because I may very well go off on a tangent.

What have we been up to. . .? Olivia is currently on a Josh kick. You explain that one to me, she'll holler with me, snuggle with him. They both then stare at me with with a smug face, I could be making that up but don't bother to tell me. He discovered that if he "hums" to her she will do it right back to him. It is the cutest thing, & I never get sick of it. I'm just delighted that her little brain is catching on to "copying". . . it is the only way she will learn to communicate with us. She is growing like a weed and a delight to our life. We now have to use a detangle spray for the mop that is wildly abundant on the top of her head. . .  so I get to comb my "alive" doll. The poor child puts up with it.

What to expect when you're expecting. . . . now, I have never read that particular book front to back but I'm seriously thinking of writing my own version & in the pages I will put down what really goes on when you're an alive incubator. They never say that you will fart outloud in Dick's Sporting Goods and then have to run for cover, they don't clue you in about getting dyslexia, ( I now say slouser tracks instead of trouser slacks) . . .or that your dreams get wild and crazy. I dreampt the other night that my brother & I were at a giant city that was in complete ruin. In the middle was a roaring river where, my bro snatched up a sting-ray, bite off its left back leg and we proceeded to float the river on the sting-ray. Sting-rays most certainly do not have legs, but mine do. And breathing. . . I no longer breathe. . . I gasp & pant & huff my way around the house. It's a lot of fun. Addictions??? Never did that book say just how much you LOVE Wendy's homestyle chicken sandwiches. I keep the place in business. . . . nor, does it tell you that you won't recognize your husband.

Need a whole paragraph for this one. . .  maybe its because I'm 30 & spouting out kids, but nowadays there just aren't cute men, sorry boys, or it could be the fact that I'm married & much to worried about laundry to bother even noticing. Last Saturday morning we drove to Inman & went to a little lumber store. After awhile I haul sis out & Josh stays inside to wait the line out. I'm sitting in the front seat with Olivia on what little lap I have left, when out of the corner of my eye I see this guy. . . . . . you know. . .black cap, gray sweatshirt, wind pants over long legs. . . & this fat whale is thinking. . .hmmmmmm. . . . . not to shabby. . . as he goes to the trunk of another car (to get some nails I now know). . . .nice view. . .hate to see you leave, love to watch you go type of deal. . . I of course quit looking and start jabbering to small daughter because I already have a cute hubby, inside waiting in line, only he wasn't waiting in line, the cute guy was Josh, same guy I ate b&g with at my breakfast table an hour ago, same guy's shorts I fold every other day. . . same guy I'm MARRIED to. You would think I could figure that out in about a second or a little less, wouldn't you? . . .  and I have 13 weeks left to go.

to look a little "alienish" but perhaps
you can make out the face.

Meet Suzy & The Specs

Suzy. . . our new little Cabbage Patch Doll.

Specs. . .  our newest commodity.

All three compiled.

She desperately wanted to "eat" Suzy, but
hasn't figured out that Suzy won't jump into her
mouth. She has to pick it up herself. Made
me chuckle.

At least they're both smiling. The world is
a beautiful place. ( & we're only speaking for this
particular second in time.)

Olivia's 2nd Christmas

. . . .come and gone. How the time flies. Not to much new and exciting here. My belly is on a roll, just grows bigger every day & every time I set Olly on my lap the little man ( it is a boy, btdubbs ) starts kicking at her. A little to early to begin stuff like that if you ask me. Olivia is doing good, she has some new little pink glasses we wear on her sometimes in the day, I don't have a picture on my camera yet, but I'll get one. I laugh everytime she wears them, it's awfully cute. She seems to see some things better. We have some Dr. Seuss flash card shapes and alphabet letters & a few other things and she actually looks at them. We are never sure just what she is able to see. She got a bunch of clothes for Christmas, so now we get to play dress-up, & I'm a little more excited about that then she is. My very first "alive" barbie doll minus the giant chest, that is. I could never understand why Barbie always had such big knockers. I think I had a skipper doll or something like that and hers were much more demure. Enough about barbie.

Christmas In Heaven

I got this poem in a card from Children's Mercy today & now I can't help my wet face.

Christmas In Heaven

Tis Christmas in Heaven, what a beautiful sight!
It's my first one here; everything is all right.

The crib is adorned with the brilliance of the star;
Wisemen have come from near and far.

I've met all our dear ones, who preceded us here;
The reunion was lovely, an event full of cheer.

And tonight we'll gather, in reverance we'll kneel,
For the Babe in the cradle up in Heaven is REAL.

I think of my family that I left behind
And I pray that your Christmas is as blessed as mine.

Please shed no more tears, for my soul is at rest.
Just love one another, live life to its best.

Yes, it's Christmas in Heaven, So I've heard them say,
Yet Christmas in Heaven happens everyday.

Panic

Yesterday, while shoveling in "sketti's"
I suddenly went into a panic. What if this cute-faced
person grows up & becomes independent
enough that she won't need to call me every day?
What oh what do you do then? I do
believe the life of a mother is
is a treacherous one. Then I got to thinking how
much she has changed in just one year. I am putting this
following picture on here so you can see for yourself. If
she changes this much in one year,
what will happen in 17?

Hair-Do's

I used to "chuckle" at those moms running around town with their "crazy-haired" children, & I do believe I jinxed myself. Olivia will soon have more hair than I do.  I do not even bother to comb it anymore, maybe only once in a great while. Really tho, I LOVE it. I pat her poor head so often I'm surprised her hair isn't a giant grease-ball. She is a delightful kiddo. Here a few weeks ago J.D. had to go to Denver for a class, so it was kiddo & I. One afternoon she had fell asleep & I didn't think she would EVER wake up. I was so bored and so sick of walking from one room to the next, I went in and woke that poor child up. I always think, man if only she would take a nap, I could get a cities worth of work done. It never happens. I'm better off when she's awake and making noise.

The other day, I decided to stand her up in front of me and see if I could get her to walk with me. Now remember, this is the kid that only learns from repitition. I used my feet to nudge her itty bitty ones several times & it clicked in her brain. I was ecstatic to say the least. She moved one and then the other, like as if she had been practicing, we've kept on getting her to do it and she will cover a little distance with some coaxing. I'm not sure whose chest puffs out more, Dad's or mine. We of course have a lot of "finessing" to do, but never-the-less, her little brain is catching on to it.

We are currently nearly 16 weeks in the making of a sibling for her. Crazy I know, but true. I never cease eating. My life consists of hovering around, over & under my refridgerator, pantry, cupboard, and pretty much any place that has a look of selling food. Last saturday I managed to wolf down a quarter pounder, LARGE fry, apple pie, chocolate chip cookie, & a bottle of water all in one sitting. To bad you couldn't be there, I had to tip the fry carton upside down just in CASE I had MAYBE missed a crumb, dumped the apple pie box over, sad that 2 didn't fall out, and slobbered my water down in a flash.

Food.

Bring me some.

I even cleaned out a thing of baby prunes after supper the other night. It is getting rather serious, I'm afraid. If your driving through town and see a "hippo" behind a steering wheel in a blue truck, do not have an accident, it is, in fact, just me. Probably meandering thru town in search of my next meal. I will quit now, I think you get the picture.

Me & my hair.

. . .& again.

Me & my one sane parent.

FINE

   in reality, stands for
                                     F freaked out
                                     I insecure
                                     N neurotic &
                                     E emotional

While going through my book of "favorites" I found that and laughed. Fits me to  T somedays.  Olivia is sacked out so I am doing nothing, nothing that is productive anyways. What did I used to do with ALL of my "me" time? I must have been a basket case. She was a pistol today. Got rip-roarin mad at something and took a substantial amount of time to get her over it. Hiccuping, crocodile tears, you know how it goes. I, as usual sapped out and wound up rocking her to sleep & all was immediately fine. A person wonders if those little people know how much power they have.
